Our Adlington Base

Our dedicated woodland in Adlington (formerly Wacky Woods) hosts our party venue, Adlington Nest in the Woods Outdoor Preschool, Adlington home educated group, Den in the Wood school holiday club and a host of exciting weekend events.

Postcode: SK10 4JX (Carry on up the hill on Brookledge Lane, over a couple of bridges towards Pott Shrigley until you get to the junction with Springbank Lane. We are opposite the junction.)

Our forest school site at Adlington (formerly Wacky Woods) is a beautiful woodland on a hill on the edge of the Peak District. We have a variety of habitats which makes the site ideal for studying nature in its variety and field studies.

This is a dedicated woodland for forest school. We have 3 main camps with fire circles and kitchen areas, an adventure play area of low rope bridges, swings, cargo nets etc. We also have a fantastic view across Cheshire from the top of the hill where we can see as far as Snowdonia on a really clear day. The variety of habitats includes a small mossland, a pond, a hillside meadow, rock faces and of course the woodland.

We host visits from schools, nurseries and scout groups throughout the year, either for day trips, or for sustained programmes of forest school with our enthusiastic and qualified instructors. Please call 07504 675551 or email mark@nestinthewoods.co.uk for more information.

We offer parties at weekends which really are great fun. We often hear the fabulous feedback "best party ever!" from the children.

We run our fully Outdoor Preschool at Adlington for children aged 2 to 5 years on a Wednesday and Thursday term time only 9.15am till 3.15pm.

We also offer programmes of forest school for home educated and flexi schooled children.

Our Family Forest School takes place on the first Saturday of each month, and we also host events based around children's books and other occasional events in our woodland.
